Digital Campaign and Marketing Automation Manager

C2 Montréal is currently looking for a Digital Campaign and Marketing Automation Manager with at least 3 years of experience to complete the Performance team within the Marketing and Audience department. The candidate will be responsible for all aspects of digital ad-campaign management, including planning, execution, management, analysis and optimization of complex cross-platform ad campaigns (which can include any combination of display ads, search ads, native content, custom research and more) and newsletter strategy and deployment.

She/he will be an integral member of a growing team, reporting and working closely with the Acquisition and Ecommerce Director and publisher partners to meet our KPIs and always exceed expectations. The candidate will be responsible for the planning, creation and management of the full campaign lifecycle (pre/during/post events); including but not limited to:

  • Planning
  • Campaign creation
  • Campaign management/optimization
  • Budget pacing
  • Campaign reporting
  • Ticket sales/revenue/growth reporting
  • Newsletter strategy and management



The day-to-day responsibilities of the digital campaign and marketing automation manager will vary considerably, however, he/she is expected to focus on the following areas of activity:

Planning and Creation

  • Create/optimize detailed media plans with a clear breakdown of activity and cost by publishers
  • Provide rationale behind media plans based on campaign performance and targets
  • Manage the relationship with the different providers and negotiate deals directly with them
  • Build audience segments based on the goals of the campaigns
  • Process management, standards and workflow
  • Create and manage targeting strategies


  • Meticulous record-keeping of optimizations carried out during campaigns
  • Manage pacing and performance
  • Reallocate budget between channels and publishers mid-campaign based on pacing and performance
  • Create strategies to test publishers, platforms and audiences
  • Provide recommendations for new tagging strategies to increase campaign measurement and performance

Campaign Reporting

  • Provide presentable multi-channel campaign report on daily, weekly and monthly basis
  • Create detailed post-campaign analysis
  • Present and implement detailed recommendations from previous campaign performance


The Successful Candidate

  • Will have a bachelor’s degree in any relevant subject
  • 3 to 4 years of experience working in an agency or client-side
  • Demonstrable experience with display/programmatic platforms, SEM, SEO
  • Proficient experience in audience segmentation (including identifying and acquiring the right segments from the sales and marketing database)
  • 1-2 years of marketing automation experience (email marketing, journey builder)
  • Hands-on experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud a plus
  • Proficient in how a marketing automation system works and the understanding of its impact in an organization
  • Strong knowledge of Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager
  • Excel, Pivot Tables and all advanced functions hold no secrets for you
  • A proven track record in driving performance campaigns through multiple online channels
  • Strong desire to track campaign responses, evaluating their effectiveness and providing guidance on optimization
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills
  • A thorough approach to solving problems
  • Project management skills
  • Strong sense of initiative and personal ownership
  • Dedicated to attaining team and personal goals
  • Understanding of third-party technology integration
  • Evidence of technical comfort and a strong understanding of internet functionality, digital media technologies and industry
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in French and English
