Retail titan Angela Ahrendts to take the stage at C2 2019

C2 Montréal is very pleased to announce the addition of brand transformer and cultural leader Angela Ahrendts, former Senior Vice President of Apple Retail and CEO Burberry, to this year’s full lineup of world-class speakers. Angela was named one of the most powerful women in the world by Forbes, and one of the most powerful women in business by Fortune again this year. In 2014, Angela was named an honorary Dame Commander of the British Empire, honoured for her contribution to British business during her tenure at Burberry. The internationally renowned business executive possesses the proven strategic vision and authentic leadership to transform global luxury brands from the inside out.

At C2 Montréal (May 22-24), Angela will share her insights and experience alongside other business visionaries including marketing powerhouse Bozoma Saint John, Oscar-winning filmmaker Spike Lee, world-renowned chef and entrepreneur Marcus Samuelsson, Cirque du Soleil/Lune Rouge founder Guy Laliberté, tech entrepreneur will.i.am and many more.

 Angela Ahrendts has a well-earned reputation for transforming companies from the inside out with a focus on people, products and strategy. She’s had an impressive transition from the fashion business world to the tech industry in recent years after honing her visionary leadership, merchandising and marketing skills at well-known fashion companies and luxury brands such as Donna Karan, Henri Bendel, LCI and Burberry.

As the CEO of Burberry (2006-2014), Angela led the 150-year-old British outerwear company through a remarkable period of global growth, evolving the company into a modern international luxury brand by curating and elevating the products, adoption of new digital technologies, raising the company’s online profile, and opening flagship stores in high-growth markets like China and the Middle East etc., tripling corporate revenues and profits in the process.

After revolutionizing Burberry, and over 30 years in the fashion industry, Angela transitioned to the technology sector, joining Apple as the Senior Vice President Retail in May 2014. Under her leadership, Apple’s physical and digital businesses were integrated to create a seamless customer journey for over a billion visitors a year. She led the first redesign of the Apple stores with award-winning designs featuring new, large glass pavilions like Michigan Avenue in Chicago, and historic renovations like the new Carnegie Library in Washington, D.C. Inside, new branded spaces were created including forums where customers attend creative sessions and community events. She reimagined the customer experience with the launch of “Today at Apple” where creatives teach over 18,000 sessions a week globally, and recrafted and modernized the benefits and roles for 70,000 employees. Her leadership transformed the spaces to be about much more than just selling. Today, NPS measures how well employees encourage human connection, inspire new learning and unlock creativity.
