C2-MTL announces EYE50 global search for the innovators of tomorrow, powered by Intel.

C2-Montreal today announced a new global event, the Emerging Young Entrepreneur 50 (EYE 50) international challenge, that will raise the curtain on the technological innovators of tomorrow. C2-MTL will undertake a worldwide search for 50 youth under 30 who are revolutionizing the way we use and benefit from technology. This competition was inspired by new Innovation Partner Intel, as part of their efforts to empower youth globally through technology.

Starting today, the grassroots, social media-driven EYE 50 will welcome submissions to a combination online peer-review and jury consisting of Mouna Andraos (Daily tous les jours), Steve Brown (Intel Futures Lab), Lotfi EL-Ghandouri (The Hub and Creative Society), Ian Jeffrey (FounderFuel), and special advisor Marc Petit (independent investor). Of the 50 best entries, 20 projects will be brought to C2-MTL in May and their young creators assigned jury-member mentors to help them network and develop their ideas with the internationally-renowned leaders in business and innovation in attendance. Of the top 20, one will be selected to provide a keynote talk on their project.

“Every day, young people all over the world are creating, coding, and designing in basements, garages and bedrooms, inventing the Facebooks and Googles of tomorrow, designing products and platforms that will change the way we live and interact with each other,” said Benoît Berthiaume, Chief Executive Officer of C2-MTL. “Together with Intel, we want to learn from them and provide them with the kind of audience that can give them a head start on changing the future today.”

Submissions to EYE 50 will be accepted as of April 8 through C2-MTL’s website. The leading projects will be announced over the course of April and the top 50 will be revealed May 10.
