Archie Bell II
Global Director, Creative studio, Spotify

Archie Bell, II spent much of his youth memorizing commercial jingles and replicating the wit of cartoonist Gary Larson. Since then, he has been inspired by storytellers like Romare Bearden, Barbara Kruger, George Lois, Faith Ringgold and Saul Bass — all brilliant minds who mastered the art of weaving meaning into magnificent visuals.

Archie is now the Global Director for The Creative Studio at Spotify, and uses this inspiration to lead a remarkable team that develops best-in-class work, inspires the world’s creative class and helps define the future of digital audio.

Before joining Spotify, Archie helped establish two of the most inventive branded content studios in media: One X Studios at Urban One, LLC and the Content Innovation Agency at NBCUniversal. Prior to that, he spent a decade on Madison Avenue developing award-winning ads for some of the industry’s most iconic brands.

Still a fan of relevant stories told simply, Archie champions narratives rooted in cultural nuance because he believes they are the most effective way to spark creativity, and he remains steadfast in his search for unexpected ways to illuminate truth and beauty, especially within the Black experience.

When he’s not perfecting his sports analogies, Archie enjoys spending time mentoring emerging thought-leaders, serving the design community as Vice President of AIGA NY’s board of directors, and hanging with his family at their Brooklyn home, art directing his kids’ shenanigans.
