A familiar name in households across the country, and a familiar face on podiums around the world, short track speed skater Charles Hamelin is one of the winningest athletes in Canadian sporting history. He’s a five-time Olympic medalist having won three gold medals, one silver and one bronze at four separate Winter Olympics (2006, 2010, 2014 and 2018). Charles is also a two-time 500-metre world champion (2007, 2009), a two-time 1,500-metre world champion (2014, 2018), a two-time 1,000-metre world champion (2016 and 2018) and has led Canada to five world relay titles. He’s the 2014 overall World Cup season winner and the 2018 overall World Champion.
