Fittingly, the name Farah translates as “joy” in Arabic, as positivity has been a cornerstone of her leadership at some of Britain's most influential media companies. Farah now leads Girl Effect, a not-for-profit creative social enterprise that harnesses creative brand strategy, media and technology to impact the world of international development – and in turn the lives of millions of girls. She creates brands that empower girls living in poverty to reach better services and life opportunities. Farah brings significant business experience to the task: she was CEO of the UK's largest independent television company, All3Media, and biggest ad agency, Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO. She also served on Prime Minister David Cameron’s Business Advisory Group and as a Business Ambassador for the Creative Industries of Britain.
“We want to create a ‘new normal’ for girls, where they’re visible, vocal and valued participants in society.”
