Founder and Principal, Local Projects
Monumental work, indeed. The 9/11 Museum, the Cooper-Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum, and the Frank Gehry-designed Eisenhower Presidential Memorial are but three of the landmark media design projects undertaken by Jake Barton’s media and architecture firm Local Projects. Jake’s work centres on storytelling, engaging audiences emotionally through the use of technology; it was an algorithm he co-authored that determined the placement of names on the 9/11 Memorial itself based on the social connections between them. He also touches on the overlap of physical and digital in his creation of a range of applications for architecture and education.
