A self-described “student of the interesting,” Joanna Peña-Bickley, head of creative and design for IBM Interactive Experience worldwide, is a true 21st century renaissance woman. Propelled by multidisciplinary acumen in advertising, art, digital media, design and technology, Joanna has lent a practiced artist’s hand to some of the world’s most recognized brands, most recently as design lead for Apple Watch’s Citi Mobile App. Powered by the desire to transform customer experiences into meaningful engagements, Joanna has led ground breaking creative teams for organizations including MATTER, Wunderman, Digitas, BBG Worldwide and Organic. Her portfolio includes supersized campaigns for Facebook, Nokia, Microsoft, American Express, MTV, Pepsi and Jay Z, to name a few, and she was named one of Silicon Alley’s “Top 100 Rising Stars.” And the creating doesn’t end with the day – it’s not uncommon to find Joanna up late, paintbrush in hand, a canvas conveying her next idea.
