A proud member of the Micmac Nation of Gespeg, Nadia Robertson was elected to the Micmac Nation’s Council in 2020, as Councillor and Vice-Chief.

As part of her duties, Nadia is responsible for the oversight of all communications as well as for business development. Nadia has acquired outstanding experience in business development throughout her professional journey. First working in the finance and banking universe, she planned and hosted recruiting events for Indigenous inclusion and she was also tasked with solidifying relationships and creating engagement with various Indigenous communities and stakeholders. She then pivoted towards marketing and advertising where she assisted many small and medium-sized businesses in developing their clientele base.

With her strong background, Nadia now takes great pride in serving her Nation’s members and is always striving for the betterment and creation of business opportunities. A business owner herself, Nadia is always eager to share her passion for entrepreneurship by hosting or participating in workshops and speaking at various events.

Highly sought-after, Nadia always makes time to share her experience about her entrepreneurial journey and her experience as an Indigenous woman. On top of her duty as Councillor and Vice-Chief for the Micmac Nation of Gespeg, she is also the Chairperson of the Board of Directors for Mesgi’g Ugju’s’n Wind Farm, the biggest Indigenous co-owned wind farm in Canada.

Nadia also works as a consultant in marketing and economic development for the Mohawk Council of Kanesatake, where she is a certified economic development officer and a member of the Council for the Advancement of Native Development Officers (Cando). She also runs Keskamizit, a beauty and wellness products line inspired by her community’s traditional knowledge. Wela'lin.
