Director and Chief Curator, Montréal Museum of Fine Arts
Under Nathalie Bondil’s direction, the MMFA has undergone physical and intellectual transformations into a museum where hip and highbrow can comfortably co-exist and even have a little fun. Bondil is behind the creation of the recent Jean Paul Gaultier touring exhibit, which by 2015 will have toured more than 10 different international destinations, starting in Montréal where the concept originated and heading to Paris. It’s received more than a million visitors to date, a record-breaking figure for an exhibition on fashion. In addition to raising museum membership (by more than 144%), Bondil is showing us there are many ways in which we can benefit from an exhibition.
