A Professor of Philosophy at Oxford, Nick Bostrom is also the founding Director of the Future of Humanity Institute, a multidisciplinary research center which enables exceptional mathematicians, philosophers and scientists (Bostrom is all three) to think about global priorities and the big questions facing humankind. Past work includes research into superintelligence, existential threats (e.g. AI) and the impacts of future technologies. His aim? To establish a goal-oriented vision of technological development that’s compatible with humanity’s own survival and wellbeing.
