An appetite for quality and culture
C2 Theme:
Nicola Farinetti wants to break bread. Bringing people and other cultures together is a central tenet of Eataly, the retail, restaurant and food education company founded by his father, Oscar, in Turin, Italy. As CEO of Eataly USA, Nicola brought the Eataly concept stateside, opening the company’s flagship, 50,000-square-foot location there with the goal of providing accessible, high-quality and authentic Italian food and drink. Part market, part restaurant and part cooking school, the international company is more than simply the sum of its many parts – it’s these elements combined that create a unique culinary experience that blurs the distinctions between restaurant and retail. The enormous success of Eataly NYC Flatiron has led to four more stores across the U.S. in Chicago, NYC’s Financial District and Boston, joining dozens more in Europe, Asia and South America.
“We want to use bread as an excuse to talk about other people’s cultures.”
