CEO & Founder, Mama Hope
As with so many of life’s lessons, it was Mama Hope CEO Nyla Rodgers’ mom who taught her that if you really want to help people, give them the means to help themselves. Created in honour of Nyla’s late mother, Mama Hope trains social entrepreneurs worldwide to partner with leaders in rural African communities, and connects grassroots organizations in the developing world with the resources needed to transform their communities. Since 2007, Nyla and Mama Hope have built 62 projects that have improved the lives of over 150,000 people throughout Africa. A former Program Director of the Pacific Rim Foundation, and Africa Program Coordinator for the UN Environment Program’s Kenya delegation, Nyla is also a producer of the “Stop the Pity” and “Men for Women” video campaigns.
