Partner and Managing Director of Education, IDEO
Sandy Speicher is a dogged modern-day explorer. She is driven by a desire to discover ways in which design can advance our systems of education in order to create more effective and meaningful experiences for today’s learners and teachers. Working with organizations across the public, private and social sectors, Sandy and her teams have helped to create an affordable school model in Peru, strategies to improve schools for the poor in India, and a new vision for the food system in San Francisco’s schools. She delves deeply into explorations of design as a process to empower people to improve the world, and recently she collaborated with Carnegie Corporation to launch 100Kin10, which President Clinton calls a new model for social change.
