James Cameron, legendary filmmaker and explorer, on-board for C2MTL 2014

Montreal, May 22

James Cameron, the legendary filmmaker, explorer and all around innovator, will take centre stage at the next edition of C2MTL, which is set for May 27 to 29, 2014. Organizers of the international creativity and commerce conference, which is in full swing this week, confirmed Cameron’s appearance today.

While best known for his work writing and directing such groundbreaking box office hits as Titanic, Aliens, The Terminator and Avatar, Cameron’s fascination with the ocean’s depths has also established him as one of the world’s great explorers. In his most recent deep ocean expedition, Cameron broke the record for the deepest solo dive, piloting the specially built Deepsea Challenger submarine seven miles to Earth’s deepest point, the Mariana Trench. Cameron is also actively involved in outer space research and exploration, working closely with scientists and robotics engineers in the designing and prototyping of equipment and architectures for a human expedition to Mars.

“James Cameron is a living legend of creativity and innovation in the realms of film and exploration and C2MTL could not be more excited to announce him as a confirmed speaker for next year,” said
Benoît Bethiaume, Chief Executive Officer of C2MTL. “With our 2013 edition surpassing all expectations, C2MTL 2014 is already shaping up as a more than worthy successor with James Cameron now on-board.”
